Ambassador of Spain visits the UNAB to learn about a collaborative agreement with Leitat Chile

A pleasant impression was taken by the ambassador of Spain, Carlos Robles, with the technology and quality of the equipment installed in the CIMIS and for the work that is carried out.

Within the framework of the collaborative work carried out by the Andrés Bello University and the Center of Excellence in Nanotechnology, CEN de Leitat Chile, on Tuesday, April 25, the visit of the Ambassador of Spain, Carlos Robles, to the premises of the Center for Integrative Medicine and Innovative Sciences, CIMIS, of the UNAB.

During the visit, guided by the rector of the U. Andrés Bello, Dr. José Rodríguez, the ambassador made a tour of the laboratories and dependencies of CIMIS, which allowed him to know the installed equipment and the work that the researchers of both institutions in the place.

“I am very grateful, very happy to know what they are doing with LEITAT, it is very important. I have had some experience with research, with science. That is the future of our countries, therefore, it seems essential to me and I am happy to know that we are collaborating in this field. I hope that there are concrete results that become patents, in economic benefit for the country, in improvement for mining, fishing, etc., there is a whole field that is being researched and I wish for the best, “said the ambassador of Spain, Carlos Oak trees.

For his part, the rector of this house of studies stressed that “we are very honored with the visit of the Ambassador of Spain. We have collaborations with Leitat Chile and, the fact that you have visited us, gives us a boost, energies to continue working. The ambassador was very surprised by the quality of the equipment that we have here (in CIMIS) and by the applications. So we are very happy with this visit. “

The day culminated with the presentation of the projects and research lines that are developed and the scope and possible uses of these in the future.

The U. Andrés Bello, through CIMIS, and LEITAT Chile, decided to join forces and carry out joint projects in complementary research in nanobiotechnology. One of the fruits of this collaboration between the two institutions was the arrival at the UNAB of outstanding researchers from Leitat Chile.
